Our Church ROCKS!

No, literally, the worship team there rocks our face off every Sunday! If you live in or near the East Bay Area, you need to check out The Gathering in Antioch.

We moved to Brentwood in April of 2009 and went from one church to the next, trying to find one to call home. Every one we went to just didn't feel right. The congregation was either too old, or too conservative or too large. One day while working at my night job in a restaurant, a cool group of people came in. They had piercings & tattoos but but weren't rowdy and they prayed before their meal. I was intrigued. Unfortunately, they weren't in my station but fortunately God had a plan for us to meet. They handed a postcard to their Server who then by luck gave it to me. It read, "The Gathering. A church for those who have given up on church."

With a bad taste in our mouths from our previous church, this sounded exactly what we were looking for. Katie and I went that Sunday and fell in love immediately with the Worship Band and Pastor Tim. We were welcomed by so many of the Congregation and felt at home instantly. While other churches we had attended might judge one on their style or how they presented themselves, the Gathering definitely has a "Come As You Are" attitude and we LOVE that. They are there to bring people closer to God and strengthen that relationship.

We are currently donating our time to working with Pastor Tim and Kyah to develop a solid brand for the Church. Part of this involves photography of the Worship and Sermons. I have included in this post a few shots I took at last weeks amazing service. Enjoy!

Cover of 110 Magazine!

Back in November we were approached by Caroline at 110 Magazine, based out of Brentwood, CA, to have a photo featured on the cover. We obviously jumped at the chance! The issue was for the February, Wedding Planning issue. They selected 3 local Photographers to share the cover. We also ran a full page ad featured on page 10 of the magazine. Wedding Bliss!

Ok I know there are a lot of photos, but we had a really hard time narrowing it down because they are just so dang photogenic!!!! This was such a blast to shoot!!! We played in the mud, made friends with the cows and successfully avoided being rained on! One of our most memorable shoots!! We promise they are not professional models! :) Everything about this couple is so genuine. They are so in love and it totally shows!!! Thank you Meagan and Garrett for letting us be a part of the last year of your life. We've loved capturing all these special moments with your little family!! You guys mean so much to us.
